Schedule a live class as a lesson inside your course. Enrolled learners join from the lesson itself with a personal link, and the session runs on Zoom with up to 1,000 participants.
Add a lesson, make it live, and pick your provider. Set the title, the start time, the duration, and the expected number of participants from 2 up to 1,000. The live class then sits in the course structure in sequence with your recorded lessons and quizzes, and it appears on the platform calendar with a shareable event page.
When an enrolled learner opens the lesson, the platform registers them with the meeting and gives them a join link that belongs to them. The host start link is only ever returned to people with permission to edit the lesson, so learners cannot start the session or take it over. Attendance is recorded, and a learner who attends more than once is credited with completing the lesson.
Configure your Zoom account once with the list of licensed host emails you have available. When you schedule a live class, the platform picks a host from that pool that is free at the time you chose and can seat the number of participants you expect. That means several classes can run in parallel without anyone manually tracking which licence is booked.
If your organization runs on Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, or anything else, use the custom link provider instead: paste the meeting URL and the lesson behaves the same way inside the course. The tradeoff is that per-learner join links and automatic recording pull are Zoom features and do not apply.
Run instructor-led sessions as part of a structured program rather than as calendar invitations floating outside it. Attendance is recorded against the employee's course record, so a live workshop counts toward completion like any other lesson.
Deliver a hybrid module where the lecture is live and everything around it is on demand. Students see the live class in the same course sequence as their readings and assessments, and they join from there.
Host member workshops and CPD sessions where attendance has to be evidenced. Each attendee joins through their own registered link, and their attendance is recorded against their enrollment.
Run one session for a distributed cohort with 1,000 seats available, and let anyone who could not make the time zone catch up from the recording on the same lesson page.
Live classes sit in the course structure, not in a separate calendar.
Personal join links per learner; host links stay with hosts.
A free host is picked from your Zoom pool automatically.
